ArtLabbé traveled to Africa to visit a Young Life orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dan Grotenhuis, a board member of ArtLabbé Santa Barbara, has known for some years the work of a couple who, moved by the harsh social and life situation of many children in that country, decided to start a home for them.

Today it receives more than 60 beneficiaries, including young children and adults, who due to different situations have been left alone without care or options for their training and personal development. In this place, the purpose is firstly to give them a home, a family, a support network and with this we also seek to teach them basic skills from childhood to more advanced organizational techniques and small businesses, in order to give them a vision of life in the future where they can become good men and contribute to the development of their African country.

This trip gave us the opportunity and the great joy of carrying out our first online art workshop broadcast from Santiago, Chile.

Through the foundation in Chile and the "Therapeutic Focus Art Workshop Program", we made contact to carry out this workshop that continues the theme "My Landscape" of the "Arts and Poems Contest" project, held in 2023 in our facilities.

This is how ArtLabbé volunteers moved in with them for two weeks and introduced them to these and many other initiatives to learn about the world through technology and the arts.

With great enthusiasm, the young people painted flowers, animals, landscapes and their favorite characters with the materials that we sent as gifts from Chile and the USA.
